Your resumes, photos and settings never reach us. They are stored only in your browser, on your device. This page explains the little data the site does process, why, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Your resumes stay in your browser
Everything you create (resumes, photos, pasted job postings and preferences such as the appearance) is saved in your browser's storage (IndexedDB and localStorage) and is not sent to us. This storage is necessary for the service you ask for, so no consent is needed. To delete it, use Settings → "Delete everything in this browser", or clear this site's data in your browser. A backup file is a file you download yourself; we never receive it.
What data is processed
- When you visit the site, your browser sends the technical information every website receives: IP address, browser type, the page requested, date and time. It is processed by the hosting infrastructure.
- If you email us, we use your address and your message only to reply.
Statistics
To understand how the site is used, we record: the page, the type of event (template chosen, resume created, PDF downloaded, ATS check run, backup downloaded), the template, the language of the page, the name of the referring site, the country, the device type, the browser and the operating system. Nothing from your resume and nothing you type is ever sent.
The statistics use no cookies and store no IP addresses. To count visitors per day, an anonymous ID is formed from the IP address and browser information with a key that changes every day; the key is deleted the next day, after which no one, including us, can recreate that day's IDs. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies either, to measure page views and loading speed. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, no statistics are recorded and Cloudflare Web Analytics is not loaded. Automated traffic (bots) is not counted as visitors.
Purpose and legal basis
Technical data is processed to deliver the site securely and reliably and to prevent abuse; statistics to understand how the site is used and to improve it; emails to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in these purposes (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Right to object: You can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). The simplest way to stop the statistics is to turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser.
No automated decisions
There is no automated decision-making and no profiling. The ATS score is calculated only in your browser, for you; it is not sent anywhere and decides nothing about anyone.
Recipients and transfers
The site runs on the infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc., which processes data on our behalf as a processor. To provide the service, data may be processed on Cloudflare servers outside the European Union, including in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses the EU standard contractual clauses for other transfers; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. Data is not shared with anyone else or sold.
How long data is kept
- Technical logs: at most 7 days.
- Raw statistics: at most 3 months.
- The daily key of the anonymous ID: deleted the next day.
- Emails: until your request has been dealt with.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie when it is needed to protect the site from attacks; it is not used to recognize or track you. If advertising or a tool that uses cookies is ever added, this page will be updated first, and your consent asked where required.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, and the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR). Write to info@ferncv.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country (Art. 77 GDPR). The statistics are anonymous, so they cannot be linked to you.
