Dates in a left gutter, small caps and serif for academic CVs.

Small caps and double rules for academia and law.
Scholar is an academic CV template with the formal typography of a book's title page. Your name is centered in small capitals above an italic headline, and a double rule closes the header. Section headings follow in small caps over a solid line, all in Georgia.

It is designed for academia and law: faculty and postdoc applications, PhD and fellowship programs, research institutes, law firms and clerkships, plus policy, publishing and cultural institutions. Where a photo is usual, as in Germany or Turkey, Scholar centers one above your name; elsewhere, leave it out.
Everything at the top is centered: the optional round photo, your name, the italic headline and a single contact line, then the double rule. Sections stack in one column. Job titles and degrees are bold, institutions and employers italic, and dates sit on the right. Skills are written as plain text.
Small caps and italics are only typography: applicant tracking systems (ATS), which universities and large employers use too, still read ordinary words such as Education and Experience. In a single column, an academic CV of several pages parses as easily as a short resume, and a photo is simply skipped.
