The classic university format: centered name, ruled headings, no color.

Dates in a left gutter, small caps and serif for academic CVs.
Journal is an academic CV template that sets every date in italics in a narrow left column, with the entry right beside it. It is how scholars list appointments, degrees, grants and talks: the eye runs down the dates, then across. A centered small-caps name and hairline headings complete the page.

It suits researchers, postdocs, lecturers and PhD candidates with a long chronological record, applying to universities, foundations or museums. Custom sections of the Entries type get the same date column, so grants, teaching and talks line up as neatly as jobs and degrees.
A thin black rule closes the centered header: your name in large small capitals, an italic headline and one contact line. Section titles sit in letter-spaced capitals above a light gray hairline. In experience, education, projects and custom entries, dates fill a left column about a sixth of the width. There is no photo.
Although the dates sit on the left, Journal is still one column of text: each date shares a line with its entry and follows the title in the underlying text. Applicant tracking systems (ATS) therefore pair them correctly in most cases and can still work out how long you held each post.
